Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Utah

My sister married her 2nd husband. He moved into her home with her 4 children. They were married 10 years. She passed away. The title of the home had her name only on it. My dad was a cosigner on her home but after she married her 2nd husband they told my dad to quick deed the home to my sister because she and her husband were putting their names on the loan and home. so he did. Her husband didn't qualify and so it left my dad off the title but on the loan. They didn't tell my dad for about 7 years. Now that she is gone, her husband gets the home and all her assets leaving my dad on the loan and her children with nothing. They are staying with relatives and he is in the home. Is there anything we can do to get some inheritance for the children. My dad paid all the funeral cost except for the headstone and opening and closing of the grave. It just seems wrong

This is too complicated of a situation to be able to give you a competent answer online. I would advise you to sit down with a probate attorney to discuss the options. If you are in Southern Utah, we'd be happy to give you a free consultation.

Good luck!
