Legal Question in Consumer Law in Vermont

Alcohol Provided to Young Girl By 23-Year-Old Man

A young girl (14 years old) in my county was recently given several alcoholic beverages by a 23-year-old man (who also happens to be her boyfriend). This young girl ended up getting drunk as a result of this illegal provision of alcohol to a minor. I was wondering what I should do in this situation. Should I get the cops involved or is there some more suitable course of action? It may also be important to note that the minor is a friend of mine, so I would really like advice.
