Legal Question in Disability Law in Virginia

I have worked for this company for 1.5 yrs and just recently found out i was pregnant. My doctor wrote a note explaining that I am pregnant, fully able to work, and that I have a weight restriction of 10 lbs. I gave the note to my manager and he told me that I could not work until the note was authorized. I waited a few days, never got a call, and so i finally went back to my job. They told me that the weight restriction is too low and that since I lift a gallon of milk on a daily basis (8 lbs) if i twist the wrong way i could have a miscarriage. They then told me that I would have no choice but to either get a higher weight limit (25lbs) even though i would not be lifting no more than 10 lbs or take a leave of absence that i do not get paid for and i loose my insurance. My doctor has to fill out the leave of absence but she will not because she said there is no reason why im out of work because i am still able to work. I feel like what there doing is discriminating against me for being pregnant! is that what they are doing? is there something i could do?

You might need to get another doctor to help you. Also, you might consider finding an attorney to help you with this. Good luck.
