Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Virginia

The company paying my retirement has filed for bankruptcy. They sent me a Proof of Claim form. My question is: Is future payments of my retirement considered a claim or will that be decided later. As I read the info., it seems that a claim is a debt covered by an invoice.

Your retirement, if payable by the company, is a claim, and you should file a proof of claim.
