Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Virginia

I recently applied for financial aid in order to further my education. I was told that I had an over pmt of a Pell Grant that needed to be satisfied before I would be able to receive any financial aid. The overpayment is supposedly due to Bluefield State College, which I attended back in 1984-85. I had dropped out in '85 when I got married. I was never made aware of this supposedly overpmt. No letters, nothing against my credit...nothing. This is the first I have heard of this. I have contacted Bluefield State College twice to no avail. They have not told me the amount I supposedly owe, and have not returned my calls with the information. My question is this. My husband and I had to file bankruptcy a few years ago. I know that student loans are exempt from bankruptcy, and I do not owe any student loans, having paid those. Would this pell grant overpmt be covered under the bankruptcy? Thank you.

No, particularly if it was never specifically included in the bankruptcy.
