Legal Question in Business Law in Virginia

My daughter had a wedding at the beach this weekend and among several things we contracted for was 40 chairs to be set up on the beach for a cost of $180. The chair people did not show and at the time of the ceremony offered to have them there 1/2 hour late if we could hold off the ceremony. Of course the guest were waiting as well as the minister who had another ceremony following and the caterer was waiting and the room rental was for 2 hours and could not be pushed back. So the 40 guest had to stand. the stress of this has really upset my wife. the Chair people did refund the $180 dollars but for my wife the ceremony was ruined and she would like to sue punitive damages or compensation beyond the refund of the $180 dollars because of the emotional stress this caused her -- the ceremony being ruined. We live in the state of Virginia and the ceremony was held in Virginia.

thanks for any advice.

Look at the contract; it is very likely to claim no responsibility for consequential damages, so recovery would be doubtful.
