Legal Question in Business Law in Virginia

I work at a restaurant and have written many recipies that are used in the restaurant. Do I own the recipies, can i take them with me if i leave?

If your writing of these recipes for your employer(the restaurant) was

considered as part of your job (and hence compensated for), the answer is

probably, no, you cannot take them with you if you leave since they're likely

the property of the restaurant from a legal perspective.
