Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Virginia

If someone is getting in my face, can i push him away from me? Also if he charges at me after i pushed him away, can i defend myself. If so how do i prove it was self defence?

Once such pushing results in what the law refers to as an "unprivileged

touching" of the alleged victim, you could be criminally liable for a charge of battery.

If such has actually occurred, your other questions become irrelevant and

likely trouble from which it may not be easy to extricate yourself.
