Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Virginia

Firearm purchasing rights

I would like to know if I am able to purchase a firearm in Va. I had a charge of Assault and Battery where the charges were dropped. This was all completed approx. 1yr ago.

Is it possible for me to purchase a firearm in my state?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Re: Firearm purchasing rights

If the charges were dropped, there should be no problem. If they were not dropped and you were convicted (even with a suspended sentence), you need to look at the specific offense of conviction. Also, if a civil protective order was issued (other than an ex-parte one) you may have a problem.
