Legal Question in Construction Law in Virginia

We made a contract with a person to lay hardwood on our floors. on the 12th oct he made a contract that he would finish the job by the 18th and took $2500 deposit.

Twice he brought wrong color wood and the second time the supplier refused to take it back as he got the boxes wet. he disappeared for several days without any notice and didnt answer my phone calls. Then on the 19th he showed up and asked for the remaining money so he can get more wood from supplier. Trusting him we paid him in full. He made another contract to finish the work by the 30th oct. he worked for only 2 days (a few hours each day) and finished about 1/3rd of the work. The last I heard from him was on the 27th oct. it is now 17th nov and he doesnt answer phone calls or reply emails.

What can I do next?
