Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

I'm less than 30 days late on paying my car note but my creditors call almost everyday of their operation from the 1st day I'm late. They say they call like that because of the kind of loan I have with them. I was wondering if I had a case to sue them for harassment?

Based on making polite reminder calls, no. But repeated calls yes that could start to be harassment.

One issue under the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act is that you can ASK them to stop calling you and/or ASK them to communicate with you only in writing.

So if you tell them "I got it. I'm aware of it. Don't call me any more." They should stop.

If they then continue to harass you, then you could definitely have a lawsuit against them under the FDCPA.
