Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

Bank debit to account for payment without notification after payment was recieve

I was a month behind on my auto loan and did not realize it until the bank collection dept called me. I informed them that I would go straight to the bank and make a double payment to get the account current that same day on the 18th. The bank agreed that was okay so that's what I did. A few days later I received a debit memo from the bank in the mail stating that my savings acct had been debited for the amount of one payment on the 19th.

Since I already made the account current the day before, are they allowed to keep that money they debited from my account without consent, or do they have to reimburse my account for that extra amount at my request? My check for the double payment has been cashed.

Why don't you ask them (your bank)?
