Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

Judgment Letter. I received a letter from a bank informing me a judment was obtained against me in Virginia for $15K for what I assume is a vehicle my ex-wife allowed to be repossessed in 2008 while I was stationed overseas. I lived in VA for the past 2 yrs and moved to KS 3mos ago. I never received any notice of a court date, or any other communication for that matter. The letter was fairly generic and I wrote back asking for more details to include documentation of the attempts to contact me. What direction should I take?

You could hire a Virginia attorney to challenge the validity of the judgment

through a motion to vacate or set aside on appropriate grounds or attempt to work out some sort of settlement with your judgment creditor (the bank).
