Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

I went to martinsville hospital for a pressure sore and told them i had no insurance. They told me to bring between 60 to 100 dollars. I went in and paid 60 and the took me back and told me it wasnt infected so they rebandaged it and gave me a few bandages to take home with me. A week later martinsville sent me a bill for 1001 dollars and told me the wound care clinic wasnt part of martinsville hosp. So the wound clinic sends me another bill a week or so after that charging me another 80 for the visit. Now Martinsville has sent me a court date for march. Do you think i should get a lawyer to fight this or do you think im just stuck with the bill.

Thanks, Tim

Sure, fight it if they're trying to stick you with a bill for $1000+. (Perhaps,

one of the low cost legal services providers in your area such as Blue Ridge

could assist you with an attorney.)

That does sound high and a good attorney may help. Virginia Legal Aid Society may be able to help or steer you in the right direction. Good luck.
