Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

minimum payments

we have an outstanding medical bill that we have been making regular payments on. The doctor's office is not willing to accept minimum payments anymore and is requiring that our outstanding balance be paid in full by the end of the year, and they are asking that we take our children elsewhere if we cannot pay in full by the end of the year.

My question is, if we are making minimum payments on a monthly basis, are we required to pay the balane in full at any given time? Is there a minimum acceptable payment that is required by law?

Thank you.

Re: minimum payments

There is no minimum acceptable payment required by law. If you had an agreement with these medical predators to pay a certain amount per month, this would be a defense to their summary demands for payment in full by year's end.
