paying medical bills

i have a 1,600 dollar medical bill if i'm paying 70.00 a month faithfully can they still garnish my husband's wages and can i legally pay what i can afford each month without being harrassed by the billing dept.

Assuming that the medical bill which represented what the law calls "necessaries of life", then , yes, a creditor could very likely also hold your husband responsible for your medical bill and, yes, even garnish his wages to secure payment.
