Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

Can she really sue me?

In 2004 my ex wife and I were married we got a consolidation loan for some of our bills. She was not in town when I signed the paperwork but she gave me the ok to sign her name to the documents. We have since divorced and she has been making the payments for the last 2 years. She is now saying she is going to sue me and lie and say that she never agreed to the loan and prove I forged her signature. In the mean time we have remained on good terms and I even used my VA benifits to cosign for a loan for her in 2005. I am not sure why she is doing this. But does she even have a case? She agreed...we were married and she has been knowingly making the payments for the last 2 years...

Re: Can she really sue me?

There are lots of questions here.

Was your wife's signature notarized?

Did your wife benefit from the loan funds? The forgery may givre her "a case", but you may have defenses. You might want to consult with an attorney.
