Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

In 1979 or 1980 was charged with shoplifting but had not left store. Had a ham sandwich and pack of ham in pocketbook and had reached in to get the items out to pay. Was taken to back of store and then to police station in a dog cage police car. It was a car for a dog to ride in. Charge dismissed with 13 dollar fine and probation for a year. I believe the Judge to say don't go back into Kroger. It aS late in day and mine was last case. How do I get to return to Kroger. I have spoken with them in another town and related that I simply forgot the incident.

More relevant facts needed to evaluate this situation, Your description of the facts would seem to

indicate that you were likely convicted of this misdemeanor offense which apparently was in fact not dismissed and therefore you would not be eligible for the remedy of expungement if such is the case

(in my opinion).
