my son was indicted to the grand jury on april,28 his next court date is may,16 court records show ''plea'' what does that mean?and could he have a bond hearing that day?

Most likely the May 16th date refers to your son's formal arraignment on the charges laid out in the indictment and his opportunity to enter a plea of not guilty before the court. And, yes, if his lawyer has filed a motion for bond, it may be possible to hear that matter on that day.
