Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

driving while revoked

Hello.

My name is--name removed-- Im 17 years old. Two days ago I got a charge for ''driving while revoked 46.2-301'' in the state of Virginia. Officer didnt pull me over. He followed me to my house, waited for me to park my vehicle and turn the ignition off. I got out of my car and locked it. When

I started walking towards my house - he called me over and asked to see my license. I had my license on me and I knew nothing about them being revoked. When he checked my record he said that I wasnt allowed to operate a motor vehicle and he wrote me a ticket. Can he do that?If so what should I expect from my court date and is there anything i can do to get my license back or restricted?

Thank you so much for taking your time to read this.

Sincerely,

--name removed--

A good start would be for you to go down to your nearest DMV office and find out when and why your driving privilege was revoked and whether notice of the revocation or suspension was sent to the correct address.
