Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

Drug Sting

I answered a craigslist ad for 2 women who wanted cocaine, they had put up a picture of a woman in a thong so I replied and met up with them. They turned out to be working undercover and I was arrested. The car I drove was seized. It is in my mothers name, but I used it for work. So my stuff was in it. We are now in a forfeiture battle and her lawyer says we can't win the case. I plead guilty to a posession of cocaine. I have a question about substantial connection...is this drug sting considered an incidental or fortuitous connection?

Re: Drug Sting

The vehicle should be returnable to its owner (your mother)since the owner apparently was in no way involved in the crime alleged. As to your question

regarding substantial connection, your attorney should be the one in the best position to answer it.
