Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

What to expect when appearing to answer on a peace bond that was issued.

Recently I was arrested on a peace bond. I was released on my own personal recog., Should I get an attorney, what is going to happen when I go to court in two weeks; If I am innocent and there is no proof of anything other than two persons words against mine; What do I need to do to convience the judge of my innocence, I have no criminal history but he does, should I mention that in court; He has been convicted of rape and assault before. In the state of Virginia, does the community in which he moves into have to be notified of his moving into the area; What is the penality if I am found guilty of threatening violence upon this individual, or will the judge just tell me to leave him alone; How can I prove my innocence?

Thank you so very much

With the scenario that you've described, I would

advise that you retain counsel to represent you in this potentially quite serious matter. (The word of two against one is quite often enough to

sink the one.)
