Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

Felonious assualt

my aunt stabbed my uncle in the neck with a steak knife and

then pulled it out and attempted to do it again. she is

currently being held on felonious assualt charges. can you

tell me what the sentence is on a charge of that nature?

Please. I have been on this computer for hours and it was very hard to find a site that you could even ask a legal question.

Re: Felonious assualt

Your concern appears to be wrongly focused, i.e.,

worrying about a sentence, which at this point remains indeterminate, rather than whether your

aunt has the adequate legal representation which

she will most surely need for this very serious charge, which could result in her being incarcerated in the penitentiary.

Re: Felonious assualt

You refer to felonious assault "...charges..." I assume from your wording that she has more than one charge (count) pending. If you e-mail me privately, or call my office with the statutory citations on the charge document, I can at least look up the statutory parameters for you. However, where she falls with in the sentencing guidelines is another matter.
