Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

Filed epo respondent never served

I filed an epo over 2 mnths ago the respondent was never served. I finally had him turned in. He now faces 2/feloney charges. My paper work shows there were 2/ altercations 2/wks apart. I thought this was just 1 charge. I just stated what happened in that specific time frame. While I know what happened was not right I cant see this person being charged with 2/fel. Please give me some insight as I do not wish to distroy this persons life. Hes got a good heart however he has serious issues I only seek help for this person not for this person to just sit in jail or prison and loose everything. Alcohol was and extreme player in what took place.

Any advise would be helpful. Yes they have had other Alcohol related charges thats why I feel they need help for what seems to be what is causing the problem.

How do I approach the commonwealth attorney seeing as I filed this report. I only want to see help for this person not to sit in a jail and cost tax payers money, only to come out worse. Please help with anthing you have that that I could suggest to the commonwealth.

Thank you

yYou should seek an appointment with the assistant commonwealth's attorney assigned to the case to make him or her aware of your concerns and to determine whether the filed charges should be amended or, perhaps, one or more dismissed.
