Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
possession of marijuana on federal property
my wife and I were recently cited for possession of a controlled substance 2 oz of Marijuana in Shenendoah nat'l park. The ticket says offence 36 CFR 2.35 (b) 2 and comes with a $250 fine. How does this affect our 'record'? What options can a lawyer provide in contesting this?

Assuming that you have no prior criminal convictions, the lawyer could probably arrange for a probation before judgment disposition which should allow you and your wife, respectively, to emerge from this matter without a formal record of conviction.
