Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

reckless driving and hit and run

I wrecked a friends car and didnt report it immediately thats why I was charged with hit and run. I decided from the begining to plead guilty so I signed a waiver of attorney already. Should I just plead guilty and see what happens or should I go to trial and represent myself? What would the sentence be for reckless driving and hit and run if I have a clean record? Thanks.

Re: reckless driving and hit and run

You've already made at least two serious mistakes in your case, i.e., signing a waiver of your right to counsel and entertaining the foolish notion of representing yourself at trial.

Go back to the court and tell them that you wish to withdraw this waiver and ask for court-appointed counsel to represent you in this matter in the event that you cannot afford to hire a competent criminal defense counsel on your own.
