Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

I just turned eighteen last october. Last night i was pulled over because i forgot to turn off my brights and a cop car passed me. I was caught with about .1 grams of marijuana. i wasn't arrested i only got a ticket for it. My biggest worry is going to jail. Im hoping since it is a very small amount i will only get heavily fined. Please i need answers.

No, you won't be put in jail under the facts as you've outlined them, but,

nonetheless, you should have an experienced criminal defense counsel representing you in this matter to have the best opportunity for an optimum outcome of the case.

Which further means that if you cannot afford to hire such an attorney on

your own, then you should request that the court appoint one for you.
