Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Virginia

What are the legal issues surrounding MySpace, Facebook and Photobucket regarding invasion of privacy, defamation of character and sexual orientation discrimination? My partner is a volleyball coach at a high school. A student and her parent have used information found on the internet to destroy her coaching career and have her fired from her job. They also searched out my information and are using it for the same purposes and I have nothing to do with this except attend games. Do we have any legal rights and can we seek libel, slander, defamation or invasion or privacy court cases against these people. They took all the sites they located, compiled an email to all the parents, School Board and School Administration. PLEASE HELP US ASAP

The website hosters which you've mentioned would apparently have no liability under current federal law for anything allegedly defamatory or invasive of privacy posted on their respective sites.

However, whether the referenced student and parent would have any liability for their alleged conduct using material(s) gleaned from these various sites would be another question entirely, which would likely require many more relevant facts which have been appropriately evaluated in the context of the causes of action which have been mentioned.
