Buying a Pistol
Hello,
I want to buy a pistol for home protection only. Perhaps a 38 special or 9MM. However, my question is this. I was convicted of a DWI in Feb 08. As of 5 Feb 09 my restricted license has been reistated. I passed all the counseling sessions, paid all fines in full and no longer need the ignition interlock device on my car. My BAC was .18. With that, can I purchase a hand gun in the state of Virginia?

Yes, as long as you're not a convicted felon.(DUI is a misdemeanor.)
