Re: Failure to complete Alcohol Safety Action Program

As you were "ordered" to attend ASAP as a condition of your restricted license, it is possible that a show cause could issue against you for contempt of that order ( a fine and jail could be imposed) In my expierence, it is often the case that the judge simply revokes the restircted license, or , if he finds it reasonable, reinstates the person into the program again. It all depends on the judge, and the circumstances of the offense. You should know that you will not be reinstated by DMV until you have successfully completed the ASAP program. If you are show caused, you will receive a summons or warrant of arrest for that purpose. The process is begun by ASAP which forwards a letter of your actions to the judge. Again, you have to finish the course to have a license, so do the right thing by contacting ASAP and getting back in if you can. But first, contact your lawyer.
