Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

I have a 4 year old daugher and had to go out of state for a while and left her with her father and now that I'm back i can't see her I"ve asked mutual people and they all tell me the same thing he said no and we don't have a custody aggreement so what do i do to find her.

Get a verified address for the father and then go to the J&DR;Court responsible

for that area and file for custody of the child.
