Family Law?

Married in 1988, Spouse started using crystal-meth approx.year 2000 & we lost our home&car. Our twins senior year in school he did not help me with.He currently living w/his 5th girlfriend in Floyd,VA & works fulltime w/Carrier in Marion,VA.I recently moved to VeroBeach,FL w/parents because of my mental state and looking for work. Can I get spousal support and be on his medical benefits? I told him I was not giving him a divorce because of irs and other debt we have.I have a letter from him 2 me admitting he takes full responsibility for everything that happened.

You would have to file some sort of court action to get support. Divorce would probably be a good avenue for you. Not getting a divorce does not cure the debts you have.

Assuming you've lived in Florida long enough to be a citizen (usually six months after you get a Florida driver's license), you can file for divorce in Florida. You haven't given enough information for me to be able to tell you if you'd be entitled to alimony. You might also be able to file for legal separation, even if you haven't lived in Florida for six months, and be able to receive alimony and health benefits. This usually doesn't work, because the spouse usually just counter petitions for divorce, but it's worth speaking with a lawyer about.
