Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

invasion of privacy?

i had social services called on me and they came to my house and checked my 10 mo old baby and the worker asked me a bunch of questions. later i found out that without my permission she went to the school where my 3 yr old goes and pulled him out of class and asked him a bunch af questions and he came home crying. is the worker legally able to talk to my son without my permission if there is not an actual case against me?

Re: invasion of privacy?

Presumably the child protective services worker conducted her inquiries of your three year old within the accepted parameters allowed for by the agency and in the presence of the daycare providers or kindergarten teachers/personnel who were responsible for supervisng your child at that time. If that was the case, you most likely have no cause for alarm or reason to be upset.
