Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Paternity of married woman's child

I may be the father of a married woman's child. I have a family of my own to take care of.

I have no contact with the mother of the child.

Should I just keep my mouth shut and lie low hoping that it never comes out, or is there a better strategy?

If it did blow up then I would gladly agree to pay child support and terminate any paternal rights just to keep this private.

Any thoughts?

Re: Paternity of married woman's child

What would be a better strategy(morally speaking)other than to "fess up" and "pay the piper" his(or rather her)due, so to speak.

From a legal perspective, however, in terms of strategy, a potential defendant should rarely ever undertake actions which may precipitate his involvement prematurely or even unnecessarily in a lawsuit.
