Can my spouse have me removed from our marital home for no reason other than they're upset?

No, but if the police or a magistrate believe that there is the risk of domestic violence (which is easy to convince them of this even without grounds) they will SEPARATE spouses. It is not so much about removing someone from a house, just making sure people likely to fight are separated.

It may be necessary to file a divorce-related action (temporary arrangements) to clarify this and give direction to the authorities who gets to stay in the house, etc.
