my wife and i have apart for one year and the home still have both names on it somehow the home had a fire ahb my wife got a very big settlement and i need to know should i have received some of those fees because i brought the items also

Yes, very likely you would have a marital claim to these items

destroyed in the fire if they were purchased with joint marital assets,

and therefore would likely be well advised to compile a list of what was destroyed and the approximate fair market value of each and the amount of the settlement which your wife supposedly received for these items.

Such a list could then come in handy whenever you may be ready to start negotiating a property settlement agreement with your spouse

when you could then put forward your claim for reimbursement for your

rightful share of what your wife received in this settlement.
