What is an invalid serve?
I was served at a twelve year old address & it was in my previous married name.
Not my present name or address.

Most likely, that lawsuit papers were served at an old address
where you were not living and under a name which you
are no longer using.
Hence, no valid service on you, presumably the named defendant, and that the case cannot proceed until valid service has in fact been effected.
