Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

Removal of personal property

My daughter and her boyfriend have been living together for almost 2 years. They have a 5 month old son. The boyfriend has left and is not argueing about the child. He left most of his belongings at her home. How long does she have to give him to remove his property?

Re: Removal of personal property

A resonable time is always best for these situations. Although the law is unlikely to be able to provide a specific time frame, your common sense will.

The younger the boy, the more time you should give him to retrieve his belongings, particularly, in light of the fact that he's, apparently, the father of your grandchild.

You don't say where the boyfriend has gone. Perhaps, he will return soon, eager for reconciliation, if one is needed.

Don't act in haste and do anything that might cause further alienation, unnecessarily.
