Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

As the treasurer of a school band parent association, we had to deal with the band director stealing funds from our fundraisers. We filed a police report. Now there has been a change in the organization and the new president issued a debt warrant to the former treasurer for the funds she feels is missing. Can they do this? And is the former treasurer truly liable?

Yes, "they" can since apparently the warrant has already issued. However,

whether the plaintiff will be able to prove the case at trial by a preponderance of

the evidence against this former treasurer is not at all clear from the facts presented in the question (in my opinion).
