Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

Warrant in detinue

Ex-boyfriend filed warrant in detinue

for a jacket, wii fit, wii mario kart,

$200 gift card, court cost.

Arrangements were made and the

jacket was returned. He stated he

did not want other items as long as

he got jacket. He said he would

withdraw claim. He signed papers

(typed up by me) stating the above.

He also signed paper stating he got

his jacket back. He is now refusing

to withdraw claim. What are my

next steps?

Additional info:

( He also had an IPOD of mine which

he shipped to me along with a copy

of the warrant. This was shipped 10

days after he filed the warrant. I had

told him all along that when I got my

Ipod - he would get the jacket. I

believe he has additional items of

mine - he says he doesn't - but I was

not able to go into his home to make

sure I had retrieved all of my

belongings.)

Re: Warrant in detinue

File a counterclaim for any items of personal property of yours which you believe that he has retained and now refuses to return. Bring the papers which he signed to the scheduled hearing

and present them to the judge as part of your defense.
