Eligibility

I haven't travel outside the US for 11 years . My adjustment of status will be completed this month . I want to become a US citizen .Am I eligible to apply .Thanks .

Yes, you should be eligible to apply for naturalization once you've held lawful permanent residency(green card) status for three years if married to a U.S. citizen or after five years if not.

First, once you have been granted your ajustment of status as a lawful permanent resident, you will be eligible to travel, provided you did not obtain your residency as a result of asylum; in that case, you should not travel the country from which you asked protection. Otherwise, you will be free to travel. Once you have your residency, you must wait 4 years and 9 months to apply for citizenship. If you obtained your residency through marriage to a U.S. citizen spouse, that is the only exception which will permit you to apply for citizenship in 2 years 9 months, or by 3 years. So you will not be eligible to apply for U.S. citizenship for at least 4 years 9 months, or if you fall under the exception, in 2 years 9 months. Good luck!
