hit/run

A car hit the neighbor fence, my car and my husband car. The license plate feel off and the police found it. We called it in to our insurance and theirs. Now their insurance say it was stolen and they don't have to pay. They didn't report the car stolen until they were notified by their insurance company. The mother said her son had itI live in VA, tags were Maryland.

Re: hit/run

If the owners of the stolen vehicle were negligent in reporting the theft to their insurance carrier, then they likely bear some of the responsibilty for the denial of the claim by their insurance carrier.

You could sue them is small claims court and perhaps recover for at least some of the damages caused by their stolen vehicle and their failure to promptly report it to their carrier.
