Legal Question in Insurance Law in Virginia

Providing bodily injury negotiation services

I am interested in starting a new business that negotiates bodily injury settlements for persons injured in automobile accidents. I am not an attorney. However, I currently work for the insurance industry and would be considered an expert in the field of insurance claims. Can I start this business and what legal issues do I have to address. What can I be held liable for?

There's a name for what you're proposing. It's called UNAUTHORIZED PRACTICE OF LAW. It is ILLEGAL.

I have to question hom much expertise you have in insurance that you would even contemplate something like this.

my guess is that your proposed business would be practicing law without a license.
