Birth certificates being the property of an 18 year old

If I just turned eighteen and am moving out, do I have the right of property to my birth certificate and social security card, considering it is my identification and I need it to get a job and drive, etc?

You can always get new ones from Social Security and the Va. bureau of vital statistics. SS is free and immediate, a birth cert might cost you $10 or so and you might have to send in and wait a week or two.
