Do I have a case if my job punished me by taking me off the schedule for a wk and sending me home when I got to work because I called in sick? And I found out they must have been trying to fire me over it too, is that illegal and I called in the time frame that I was supposed to

No, (in my opinion) there's nothing "illegal" in what you've described (assuming you are working without the protection of an enforceable contract or collective bargaining agreement governing the matters at issue.
