Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

Final Paycheck

I will be leaving my current job this month. I have been told that if I request my final paycheck on my last day in the office, the employer is required, by law, to give me my final paycheck (for all remaining hours worked) before I leave the premises. Is this true? I work and live in Virginia.

Re: Final Paycheck

No not necessarily, as long as the amounts which you are owed are remitted to you within a reasonable time frame from the date of your termination.
