i am out from work on STD does your FMLA run at the same time or does it kick in after your STD runs out/

Short Term Disability and Family & Medical Leave Act are independent and separte programs and do not run concurrently, and the latter does not automatically "kick in" after the former runs out, but must be specifically applied for by the employee seeking such leave.
