Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia

We can no longer afford our rent. Our land lord wants us to put in a 60 day notice as the lease states for intent to leave. But we cannot afford to pay currently let alone 2 months! I don't know what to do

I would advise you to put in your 60 day notice ASAP to the landlord and then pay what you can on it and

be prepared to vacate the premises as soon as that becomes unavoidably necessary.
