Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia

When I moved my landlord and I agreed I would be responsible for the apartment if not rented. It was rented one month later. My landlord now wants me to pay off the amount dur in 6 months. I am on social security and pensions. I can only afford 100 per month. Can she force me to pay more per month

agreement memorialized in writing or not?)
