Legal Question in Personal Injury in Virginia

Defamation and Slander

Someone has been going around saying they had sex with me and it it is false. The person saying this does not work with me and I have no contact with him at all, but all of my subordinates at work are discussing this and this has created chaos for me.

One of the persons that he told this lie to works with me and told me about this.

Is there anything I can do? Is a lawsuit against this person very costly? I don't even know if this person has a job.

Yes, a lawsuit attempting to prove defamation against this person would likely be quite costly.

Yes, it could be costly. A letter from an attorney may put a stop to it. Good luck.
